Kimley-Horn

Electrical Engineering Intern

May 2024 - Aug 2024

  • Worked on designing and simulating large-scale solar electrical power plants for sites across the United States.
  • Consulted directly with clients to gather information about their sites and specifications and designed drawings and mappings of sites in AutoCAD
  • Used software such as ETAP and SKM Power Tools to conduct
    1. Arc Flash Analysis
    2. Load Flow Analysis
    3. Ampacity Analysis for Cables
    4. Grounding Analysis
  • Improved overall AC circuit analysis skills for power systems and how critical components such as transformers, inverters, and transmission lines are comprehensively modeled in software.

Georgia Tech Experimental Rocketry

Flight Computer Engineer

Aug 2024 - May 2024

  • Played a major role in designing the control board PCB for the rocket’s flight computer stack using Altium Designer.
  •  Created a 6-layer PCB for an STM 32 microcontroller with:
    1. Test Points for Oscilloscope Probing
    2. Ground and Power Planes
    3. Flash Memory Capabilities
    4. Radio Data Transmission
    5. Impedance matching for USB
    6. Power Distribution with Voltage Regulators
    7. E-match Popping Circuitry with Temperature Sensors
    8. Various Communication Protocol Implementations and Conversions (I2C, UART, CAN, SPI)
  • Future objectives for next year are evolving the interfacing capabilities with the power, battery, and sensor PCBs to make the flight computer stack up functional.

Aquabots Vertically Integrated Project

PCB Design Engineer

Aug 2023 - May 2024

  • Part of the Microfloats subteam with the goal of building a maritime robot that can survey the activities of different larvae species on the ocean floor.
  • Redesigned the control board in KiCAD that will interface with the sensor board by integrating a new ESP module, adding a dual-channel voltage regulator, laying out the schematic for a new IMU.
  • Working on finalizing the ESP communication pins and peripherals and confirming the schematic designs of the leak, temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors.
  • Will move on to laying out the PCB and testing with the sensor and power boards.
